Lindenwood wrestling faced No. 2 Nebraska-Kearney in a hard fought dual which the Lions lost 19-18 on Wednesday night at Hyland Arena.
The match was off to a back-and-forth start as 
Marco Tamayo defeated No. 8 Connor Bolling 6-4 to begin the night. 
Matt Katusin put up a great fight but fell to No. 1 Daniel Deshazer in a 3-2 decision. 
Kyle Webb helped Lindenwood jump out to a 9-3 lead when he pulled off the upset and pinned No. 2 Brock Coutu at the 1:14 mark.
The Lions dropped the next four matches including losses to three ranked Loper wrestlers. 
John McArdle pulled off the move of the night by flipping backwards and gaining top position on his opponent leading to a pin that put the Lions back in it as they trailed by just one at 16-15 with two matches remaining.
Kenny Breaux lost to No. 1 Romero Cotton 2-1 in a hard fought match which would put 
Steven Butler in a tough spot. Butler won his match 2-1 but it was too little too late as Lindenwood fell 19-18.
Lindenwood will head to Arkadelphia, Ark. to compete against Ouachita Baptist on Sunday.
