The Lindenwood wrestling team had a strong showing at the Viking-Warrior Open on Saturday.

Matt Katusin won his first two matches by pinfall and finished third in the 133 weight class. After falling in his first match of the day, Kyle Webb fought his way to earn a third place finish in his 141 weight class.

The 149 weight class was dominated by Lindenwood wrestlers. Derrick Weller and Colton Orlando went head-to-head in the championship match which was won by Weller in a 3-1 decision. John McArdle placed second in the 184 weight class as he fell by just one point in the championship match.

Steve Butler put up a great fight in the championship match in the 285 weight class. Butler lost 4-3 in sudden victory to take second place.

The Lions will be in action on Sunday in Wichita, Kan. to take on Newman University at 2 p.m.
