Lindenwood's field hockey team almost won their second game against a top ten ranked opponent, but fell just short to #5 Limestone College in Gaffney, S.C. , 2-1.

The Lady Lions started the game out solid defensively, not allowing a goal until only five minutes were left in the first half. The Lady Lions couldn't find the back of the net in the first half; which caused the Lady Lions to head into overtime down 1-0.

The second half was similar to the first with both teams playing well defensively. With ten minutes left in the game Limestone scored their second goal of the game off of a corner to give them a 2-0 lead. The Lady Lions were still fighting when
Ashton Lichvar scored her fourth goal of the season on an assist from
Greta Banholzer to cut the lead 2-1. The clock ran out on the Lions and the final score ended up 2-1.

Lindenwood had plenty of opportunities, but couldn't capitalize. The Lady Lions outshot the Saints 14 to 7 and doubled the Saints in corners 6 to 3. Coming into the game Limestone had outshot their opponents 191-80 and out cornered their opponents 96-77. Defender
