Lindenwood field hockey got its first conference win of the season against ECAC conference foe Bellarmine University, 3-2.
Lindenwood gave up the first point 15 minutes into the first half. It was looking like Lindenwood was going to go into the half down 1-0, but
Nicole Johnston managed to sneak a goal in just before the halftime buzzer sounded.
Coming into the second half, Lindenwood carried the momentum and
Graycen Dave scored a goal three minutes into the second half on an assist from
Linda Oberle. Bellarmine tied the score just two minutes later. The Lady Lions turned back to Johnston for the game winner and she got her second goal of the evening.
Victoria Gil was covering everywhere in the goal, as she had 11 saves on the day. Gil and her defense managed to hold Bellarmine to two despite their 16 penalty corners.
This win moves the Lady Lions record to 3-4 and 1-1 in ECAC play. Coming up next for the Lady Lions is a game Sunday, October 5th, against Seton Hill University at Hunter Stadium in St. Charles, Mo.
