The Lindenwood men's soccer team played the No. 15 Northeastern State Riverhawks tough but could not overcome an early goal and fell 1-0 in St. Charles on Saturday afternoon. Â Â Â
Northeastern State scored the only goal it needed in the 29
th minute. The Lions put some pressure on the Riverhawks in the second half but could not get a shot by Northeastern State goalie Jackson Biles.
Lindenwood was forced to play a man down for the final 25 minutes after Eduardo Spragge was given a red card. Northeastern State outshot the Lions 9-6.
The loss drops the Lions to 5-4-2 overall and 3-2 in MIAA play. Up next for Lindenwood is road game against Harding on Oct. 9
