The Lindenwood women's soccer team got back in the win column on Sunday afternoon after beating Nebraska-Kearney 4-1 in St. Charles.
It did not take the Lady Lions long to get on the scoreboard when
Kristin Brewer scored her first goal of the season 1:20 into the contest. Lindenwood added to the lead 20 minutes later after
Becky Roberts scored her first of two goals on the afternoon.
The game headed into the halftime break with the Lady Lions leading 2-0. Nebraska-Kearney cut the lead in half in the 64
th minute. But in the 86
th minute, Lindenwood would put the game away with two goals in a span of one minute. Â
Molly White scored the first to make the score 3-1 followed by Roberts who closed the game out with another goal after a great pass from
Danielle Torry.
Lauren Groathouse started in goal for the Lady Lions and made nine saves while earning her second win of the season.
The win improves Lindenwood to 4-3-2 overall and 3-1-1 in MIAA play. The Lady Lions will be off until Oct. 10 when they welcome Southwest Baptist to Hunter Stadium.
