Lindenwood's women's ice hockey team lost their first CHA conference game of the season tonight, falling 3-2 in overtime.
The Lady Lions started out hot, being the first team to score on a goal by senior
Katie Erickson, on an assist from
Shara Jasper. This wouldn't be Jasper's last assist. Jasper then teamed up with Erickson to deliver a pass to
Jordyn Constance for Constance's third goal of the season.
Robert Morris responded after Lindenwood jumped out to a 2-0 lead. Robert Morris scored one goal before the end of the 2nd period to shrink Lindenwood's lead, 2-1. With four minutes left in the third period Robert Morris tied it up 2-2. Lindenwood scrambled to score on a power play at the end of the third period despite the crowd's impressive support and some great opportunities.
The game went into overtime, where Robert Morris scored two and a half minutes in, clinching a Robert Morris 3-2 victory.
Robert Morris won the faceoff battle 31-24. Lindenwood had three power play opportunities compared to Robert Morris's two.
Nicole Hensley had 28 saves on the evening.
