Women's Hockey Takes On CHA Leader This Weekend In Erie

- Lindenwood ends the first half of its College Hockey America (CHA) schedule this weekend. The Lady Lions are off to their best CHA start in their brief history in the league, but they will face their toughest test in a two-game series at No. 7 Mercyhurst.

- Lindenwood is currently tied for second in the CHA with a 4-3-1 record, and it is 5-8-1 overall. The Lady Lions split their third straight series last weekend, this one coming against Syracuse. The Orange won the first game by a 1-0 score, and Lindenwood won game two by a 2-1 margin.

- Mercyhurst is the top team in the CHA this season as it is currently 14-2-2 overall and 5-1-0 in CHA action. The Lakers did not allow a goal in a non-conference sweep over Colgate last weekend. They tied nationally-ranked Cornell on the road on Monday evening.

- Mercyhurst has controlled the all-time series with Lindenwood as it has won 11 of the 12 games, and tied the other contest. The Lakers are 7-0-1 against the Lady Lions in CHA games, and 5-0-1 in games played in the Erie region.

- Lindenwood snapped an 11-game losing streak against Mercyhurst in their final meeting last year. The Lady Lions never trailed in the game which ended in a 2-2 tie. The Lakers won the other three games last season by a combined score of 15-3.

- Lindenwood is just 1-23-1 all-time against nationally-ranked teams, but it is 1-3-1 in the last five games.

Lindenwood Notes
- Lindenwood was blanked in the first game of the Syracuse series by a 1-0 score. The Orange scored just 3:01 into the game, and neither team found the back of the net for the final 56:59.

- Lindenwood scored the first two goals in game two of the series and held on late for a 2-1 victory in the finale of the Syracuse series.

- Brooke Peden assisted on the first goal in the second game, and then scored the game-winner just 53 seconds into the second period.

- Shara Jasper scored her team-high seventh goal of the season against Syracuse.

- Alyssa West moved into a tie for the team lead with her sixth assists of the season against the Orange. Saville Pickar and Lyndsay Kirkham also had assists.

- Nicole Hensley had a good series in goal. She had a 1.01 GAA, a .965 save percentage, and made a total of 55 saves. Ten of those saves came in the final 11:27 of the second game to help Lindenwood preserve a 2-1 win.

- Shara Jasper is tied for 28th in NCAA Division I with 0.50 goals a game, and is tied for 50th with 0.93 points a contest.

- Nicole Hensley leads NCAA Division I with 444 saves this season. She currently has three more than Union's Shenae Lundberg. Hensley ranks 19th in the nation in save percentage and 25th in goals against average.

- Shara Jasper is ranked fifth in the CHA in points per game, third in goals per game, and tenth in assists per game.

- Jordyn Constance is ninth in the league in goals per game with a 0.36 average.

- Alyssa West is tied for tenth with 0.43 assists a game.

- Five current Lady Lions have scored goals against Mercyhurst. Alyssa West and Caitlyn Post have each scored twice, while Jordyn Constance, Katie Erickson, and Lyndsay Kirkham all have one goal.

- Goalie Nicole Hensley has a .926 save percentage in her previous appearances against Mercyhurst. She recorded 64 saves in a 2012 meeting, the most in her career for a regular season game.

- In just CHA games, Mercyhurst is first by allowing 1.33 goals a game, while Lindenwood is tied for second by allowing 1.75 goals a contest.

- In CHA play, Lindenwood is now 0-3-1 in the first game of a series, and 4-0-0 in the series finales.

- Lindenwood has allowed just a single goal in five of the team's eight league games.

- Over the last six games, the Lady Lions are averaging 5.3 penalty minutes a game. Lindenwood has also been strong on the penalty kill. It did not allow a power-play goal last weekend, and it has killed off nine straight power plays.

- Lindenwood finished November with a 4-3-0 overall record. It had a winning record in November for the first time in program history.

- Lindenwood is off for nearly a month after this week's series. It will start a five-game non-conference homestand on Jan. 2-3 with a two-game series against Bemidji State.
