Women's Gymnastics Earns Another Win Over Illinois State

The Lindenwood women's gymnastics team hosted Missouri and Illinois State in a tri-meet on Friday night at the Family Arena in St. Charles, Mo. The Lady Lions finished second as they earned their second victory of the season over MIC rival Illinois State.

Lindenwood finished with a team score of 190.925. It is the third straight meet Lindenwood has broken 190, and marked the fifth time this season it has been over that mark. The SEC Tigers won the meet with a 194.050, while Illinois State recorded a 190.175.

In the head-to-head matchup with Illinois State, Lindenwood won the vault and bars, and Illinois State won the beam and floor. The biggest difference came on the vault where the Lady Lions had a 48.050, 0.750 better than Illinois State.

Individually, Missouri also swept all of the event titles and the all-around crown. The best performance of the night for the Lady Lions came on the vault where Rachel Zabawa recorded a score of 9.825 which was second-best in the competition. That score tied the school record in that event.

Aubree Horn also had a good vault performance for the Lady Lions with a 9.700. The top Lindenwood performers on the bars were Courtney Heise with a 9.775 and Emily Turik with a 9.700. Alicia Floyd topped 9.700 on the beam with a 9.775 mark. Ajiea Hargrave had the best showing on the floor with a 9.650.

Lindenwood will be in action again on Sunday, Feb. 23, when it hosts Air Force at Hyland Arena. The event will be the team's Senior Day as well as its Pink Out event.
