Women's rugby won two games and lost two games en route to a runner-up finish in a 7's tournament hosted on the Lindenwood University campus March 22.
The Lady Lions started the day well with a victory over Grand Valley State 15-10, but they were then stopped by Davenport University in the next game 24-14. With a chance to still play for the event title, Lindenwood outscored the St. Louis Sabres 12-5 to advance to the championship game, but the Panthers were once again too much in the rematch and the Lady Lions fell 28-12.
Tianna Camous was given "Player of the Day" status for Lindenwood with a strong performance on defense through all four games.
The Lady Lions record now stands at 2-3 in collegiate 7's competition. They will travel to Cedar Falls, Iowa for the National Qualifier tournament April 5. The event begins at 8 a.m. that Saturday morning.
