Nicole Hensley Named CHA Goalie Of The Month

Nicole Hensley has been named the College Hockey America Goalie of the Month for the month of February. It is her second CHA monthly award for Hensley and her first Goalie of the Month honor.

Hensley ended the regular season by going 3-3-1 during the month of February and having an outstanding .945 save percentage. She stopped at least 40 shots in every game but one, and had a total of 310 saves for the month. Hensley allowed two or fewer goals in four games despite constantly facing a large number of shots.

In February, Hensley led Lindenwood to two of its biggest results in program history. At the start of the month, the Lady Lions defeated a nationally-ranked team for the first time with a 4-2 win over Robert Morris. She made 55 saves in that game and both goals she allowed came while the Colonials had an extra person on offense. The regular season ended with a 2-2 tie against nationally-ranked Mercyhurst, a team that Lindenwood had never played closer than three goals before. Hensley made 41 saves in that game, including eight in the overtime period.

Hensley finished the season with 1,198 saves, the third-most in NCAA history for a single season.
