Nicole Hensley Named Second-Team All-CHA

College Hockey America (CHA) announced its 2013-14 conference awards on Thursday evening at its annual banquet before the final two rounds of the conference tournament. For the second straight season, Nicole Hensley was named to the second-team all-CHA squad.

Hensley, a sophomore goalie, recorded 1,198 saves on the year, the most in NCAA Division I and the third-most for a single-season in NCAA history. She had a .921 save percentage for the season, including a .931 mark in CHA play. In conference games, she had five wins and two ties, and made 718 saves. Hensley recorded 40 or more saves in 13 of her 33 games, including a season-high 69 against North Dakota.

Hensley played a big role in some of the best results in school history. She made 55 of 57 saves during the team's 4-2 win over Robert Morris, the program's first win over a nationally-ranked team. She also helped Lindenwood tie both Bemidji State and Mercyhurst. The tie with Bemidji State was the first over  a WCHA program, and the tie over Mercyhurst was the first with the powerhouse CHA program.

In her two-year career, Hensley has a .922 save percentage and has made 2,281 saves in 61 games.
