Lindenwood's women's basketball team fell to the Fort Hays State Tigers 75-60, moving the Lady Lions record to 7-6 and 1-6 in MIAA play.

The Lady Lions fought hard to stalemate early in the game, but Fort Hays State started to get some momentum towards the end of the first-half, taking a 34-26 lead into the break. Leading Lindenwood in scoring for the first half was sophomore
Kassidy Gengenbacher with ten, five of those points coming from the free-throw line. Junior forward
Vanessa Zailo had already secured double-digit rebounds with ten.

The second-half was played more tightly by the Lady Lions, but the Tigers proved to be too much, outscoring Lindenwood 41-34 in the second-half. Junior point guard
Jenny Rocha, heated up in the second-half, scoring 11 points on 5-7 shooting, giving her 15 on the game. Zailo chipped in seven points in the second-half, while continuing her excellent rebounding, bringing in eight, giving her 18 on the game. Rocha and Gengenbacher were the two scorers for Lindenwood to reach double-digits.

The Lady Lions were just in a very difficult part of their schedule, coming into tonight's game the Lady Lion's last five opponents had a combined record of 48-5. After its win, Fort Hays State is currently on a 13 game win-streak and undefeated in MIAA play.

The Lady Lions hope to get their second MIAA win on January 15th, when they host the Missouri Southern State University Lions. Missouri Southern has lost their last four.
