Women's Hockey Set to Host Ohio State

Series Notes
- The Lindenwood women's hockey team continues its 2015-16 season this Friday and Saturday against Ohio State. Game times are 7 p.m. for each game at the Lindenwood Ice Arena in Wentzville, Mo.

- The Lady Lions began their season with a two-game home series vs. the Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs this past Saturday and Sunday. Trailing 3-1 late in the third period on Saturday, Lindenwood scored twice in the final 4:03 forcing the game to overtime where they would eventually fall 4-3. The Lady Lions dropped the Sunday matchup by a score of 4-1.

- This weekend marks the second series played between Lindenwood and Ohio State all-time. The two teams previously met in September of 2012 when Ohio State hosted Lindenwood, winning both games and giving them a 2-0 advantage in the all-time series. The Buckeyes were victorious in the first matchup by a score of 4-0, and the second contest 7-2.

- Ohio State finished the 2014-15 season with a record of 17-16-3, and a No. 14 national ranking. The Buckeyes were picked sixth in the WCHA Preseason Coaches Poll.

Lindenwood Notes
- Only three members of the Lady Lions who made the trip to Columbus in 2012 remain on the team currently. They are Nicole Hensley, Brooke Peden and Rachel Weich.

- This past weekend vs. Minnesota Duluth, Lindenwood seniors Brooke Peden and Rachel Weich became the fifth and sixth players in program history to play in 100 career games. The all-time program record was set by Katie Erickson ('12-'15), who played in 130 games for the Lady Lions.

- During the first two games of the season, the Lady Lions tallied four goals from four different skaters. The team also had four players contribute two assists apiece.

- Sophomore Sarah Bobrowski and freshman Shannon Morris-Reade each scored their first-career goals on Sept. 26th. Morris-Reade opened up the scoring with a first period goal, while Bobrowski scored in the third period with 17 seconds remaining in the game to force overtime. Both players also recorded two assists as they each recorded career-high point totals with three.

- Nicole Hensley recorded 36 saves in Saturdays overtime defeat, giving her 3,183 over her career and moving her into 10th place on the all-time list. The record of 3,809 is held by Brianne McLaughlin('06-'09) of Robert Morris.

- Goaltender Jolene deBruyn made her first-career start as a Lady Lion on Sept. 27th. In the 4-1 defeat, deBruyn registered 43 saves including 21 during the third period.

- Lindenwood was picked fifth in the preseason College Hockey America coaches poll. The Lady Lions went 7-11-2 in league action last year and will open up their conference schedule on Friday, October 30th when they host CHA rival Penn State for a two game series.

- The Lady Lions will return to action on Oct. 9th and 10th as they embark on a two-game, two-opponent road trip. The team will first travel to Durham, N.H. to take on the University of New Hampshire, followed the next day with a matchup vs. the Northeastern Huskies from Boston, Mass.
