The Lindenwood men's and women's swimming teams competed at Truman State on Saturday afternoon, with the men topping the host Bulldogs while the women finished just behind their counterpart.
The Lions had the top two teams in the 400 relay, with the third finishing in fourth. Individually, Krzysztof Jankiewicz won the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 50.95 seconds. Felix Eigel placed second in the event, while fellow Lion Blake Logan completed the event in third.
Eigel also finished second in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 4:43.32. Teammate Sylwester Borowicz Skoneczny won the event one and a half seconds in front of Eigel. Kian Quigley won the 100 yard butterfly, with Micah Blackwell placing third in the same event.
On the women's side, Alicia McGillivray kept up her hot streak and won the 1000 yard freestyle by just less than two seconds against Truman State's Jasmine Roghair. McGillivray also won the 500 yard freestyle and the 400 yard IM.
Preseason RMAC Women's Swimmer of the Year Ewa Dymarek won the 100 yard breaststroke, 200 yard breaststroke, and finished third in the IM. Lindenwood's Hannah Vinyard won the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 2:09.13.
As a team, Lindenwood edged out Truman State 289-235, with the men winning their respective competition 180-82. Both teams will compete next on October 24 at 12:00 pm in St. Peters, Mo. against Missouri S&T, St. Louis University, and Delta State University.
