The Lindenwood Lady Lions lost their fifth match in a row on Friday night 1-0 at Fort Hays State in Hays, Kan.
What turned out to be a balanced first half stats-wise, Lindenwood actually controlled the first 10 minutes launching four shots with only one on goal. With the teams exchanging fouls for the next 30 minutes, Fort Hays began to find its stride getting two shots off in the final 21 seconds.
Lindenwood's
Olivia Callipari started the Lady Lions' second half just as the first started, on the attack. She got off a shot within the first couple minutes, then the rest of the half saw much of the same as what the first half produced. Lindenwood and Fort Hays State exchanged a few opportunities throughout the half before the Lady Tigers managed two shots and a corner kick as the second half was winding down. Lindenwood's defense held strong and was entering its fourth overtime match.
Both teams fired a shot in the first overtime period before Fort Hays State's Jasmine Beaulieu just missed a header to go wide of the net as the period ended.
The Lady Tigers were on the attack early in the second overtime getting called for an offsides in the first minute of the period. Just a minute later, Cassi Moosburger took a pass from 15 yards out and drilled one in the top left corner to beat Lindenwood goalkeeper
Jordan Gnolfo to win the game for the Lady Tigers 1-0.
Lindenwood drops to 1-6-2 and heads to Kearney, Neb. on Sunday for a 1 p.m. kickoff in search for its first conference win of the season.
