The Lindenwood women's volleyball team lost to No. 16 Nebraska-Kearney on Friday night by a final of 3-1 at Hyland Arena in St. Charles, Mo.
Lindenwood dropped the first two sets 25-16 and 25-14. After the break, the Lady Lions took set three 25-20 before falling 25-14 to close out the night. The Lady Lions came out flat in the first two sets compiling just nine kills as a team in each set. Lindenwood doubled its kill production in set three with a total of 19 kills as
Bailey Dvorak and
Paige Straatman combined for 10 kills.
Nebraska-Kearney came back in set for determined to finish and they did just that. The No. 16 Lopers proved to be too much for the Lady Lions as they went on to a 25-14 set four win.Â
Allyson Clancy played well off the bench compiling 24 assists in three sets played. Clancy added four kills and four digs to her night. Straatman totaled eight kills while Dvorak finished with seven.
Lindenwood falls to 8-5 on the year and now stand at 1-2 in the MIAA. The Lady Lions will host Fort Hays State on Saturday night in Hyland Arena at 7 p.m. in St. Charles, Mo.
