The Lindenwood women's volleyball team defeated McKendree 3-1 on Tuesday night in Hyland Arena.
Alex Dahlstrom had a big night with 17 kills and three service aces.
The Lady Lions came out with a big 25-21 win in set one as
Kayla Guyot hit an efficient .667 percent for four kills. In set two the Bearcats evened the match with a 25-19 set win. After the break the Lady Lions found themselves down 6-3 to start set three, but battled back the entire set to win 25-22. Dahlstrom put up seven kills and hit .583 percent to help the Lady Lions take a 2-1 lead.
Lindenwood roared to a demanding 25-15 win in set four to put a stamp on the night and a 3-1 victory over McKendree. Dahlstrom finished the night with 17 kills while
Bailey Dvorak had 12 kills. Guyot and
Jessica Krygsheld were right behind with 10 kills each, while
Allyson Clancy dished out 43 assists.
The non-conference win gives Head Coach
Ron Young his 350th win as the head coach of the women's volleyball squad at Lindenwood University. Coach Young is in his 14th season as the head man of the women's program.
Lindenwood improves to 12-11 on the year. The Lady Lions will remain at home to take on Pittsburg State in Hyland Arena on Friday for a 7 p.m. start time in St. Charles, Mo.
