The Lady Lions returned from a 13-day break with a 2-1 victory over Bellarmine on Saturday afternoon. This win extends the Lady Lions' ECAC record to 3-0.
Although she took only three shots on goal, Greta Banholzer proved to be the efficient offensive player as she scored both goals for the Lady Lions off assists from Shelby Easley and Karlie Quinn. Banholzer, sophomore, is now tied for second on the team with four goals. Bellarmine managed to score a goal within the last five minutes of the game, but the Lady Lions' defense did not budge.
Victoria Gil recorded eight saves on 16 shots faced, improving her season total to 59. Quinn leads the team with three assists after her dish to Banholzer seconds into the second half.
The Lady Lions will take another week off before traveling to New York from October 9-12 to play against LIU Post, Saint Thomas Aquinas, and Dowling. First game will be at LIU Post on October 9th at 1:30 pm.
