The Lindenwood women's volleyball team gave No. 12 Central Oklahoma a scare in Hyland Arena, but fell 3-2 on Saturday night in St. Charles, Mo.
The Lady Lions fell in set one 25-17 after hitting just .061 percent.Â
Bailey Dvorak led the team with four kills on eight attempts. Lindenwood came to play in set two which resulted in a 25-22 win over the Bronchos. Dvorak added five kills to her match total, while
Sarah Makowski had two blocks. The Lady Lions hit .342 in the second set.
In set three,
Kayla Guyot tallied six kills and two blocks to help the Lady Lions to a 28-26 set-three win. Central Oklahoma came back in set four to win 28-26 in a wild finish. With the match tied at 2-2, the Lady Lions ran out of gas and fell 15-11.
Dvorak finished the night with 19 kills and two assists. Guyot was right behind her with 14 kills and seven blocks up front. Makowski had a great night of her own with 11 kills and five blocks. Lindenwood tallied 11 service aces and 12 blocks, but came up short in the end to fall 3-2 to No. 12 Central Oklahoma.
The loss will place Lindenwood at 13-12 on the year and the Lady Lions now stand at 4-9 in conference play. The Lady Lions will travel to Topeka, Kan. to take on No. 10 Washburn at 7 p.m. on Friday night.
