Women's Hockey Prepares for CHA Clash with Robert Morris

Series Notes
-The Lindenwood women's hockey team continues its 2015-16 season this Saturday and Sunday against conference opponent, the Robert Morris Colonials. Puck drop is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday and 12 p.m. on Sunday from the Lindenwood Ice Arena in Wentzville, Mo.

-This past weekend the Lady Lions traveled to Rochester, N.Y. for a two-game series with the RIT Tigers. After falling behind 1-0 early in the first periodd on Friday, the Lady Lions rallied with four unanswered goals to defeat the Tigers by a score of 4-1. On Saturday, Lindenwood and RIT skated to a 1-1 overtime tie.

-In the 2014-2015 season, the Lady Lions and Colonials matched up four times during CHA play. Robert Morris won the season series 3-1-0. Of the four games played a year ago, three of the contests were decided in overtime, with Robert Morris winning two of the three games in the extra period. The lone Lindenwood vitory came on Nov. 8 of 2014 in the second game of a two-game series played in Wentzville. Nicole Hensley made the start in goal for the Lady Lions, making 37 saves during the overtime victory.

-Robert Morris enters the weekend matchup with a record of 9-6-3 overall and 3-3-2 within the CHA. The Colonials currently sit in third-place in the conference, just one point ahead of the Lady Lions. Robert Morris is led offensively by the duo of Brittany Howard and Amber Rennie. Howard is the team-leader in assists and points with 14 and 22, respectively. Rennie ranks first on the team with 10 goals scored.

Lindenwood Notes:
-During the two-game road series at RIT, the Lady Lions received point contributions from 11 different skaters, including five different goal scorers. Shannon Morris-Reade and Britannia Gillanders paced Lindenwood with two points each over the two game stretch.

-This past weekend, goaltender Nicole Hensley started both games, totaling 61 saves while compiling a .968 save percentage and a 0.96 GAA. Hensley turned in a 33 save performance on Dec. 4 to boost Lindenwood to the 4-1 victory. This marks the second time Hensley has earned the award this season, and the eighth time during her career.

-Following her power play goal in the second period on Friday afternoon at RIT, Shara Jasper snapped the Lady Lions power play goal draught which stretched back to Oct. 30 vs. Penn State.

-This past weekend at RIT the Lady Lions won 61.3 percent of the faceoffs taken. Holly Dietzler led the way for Lindenwood winning 16 of the 22 draws she took. Jasper also performed well in the circle, winning 13 of her 18 faceoffs.  

-Following her assist on Friday, Tae Otte took the team-lead in points-scored amongst the Lady Lions' defense core. Just behind Otte's total of six points is Katie Nokelby, who has notched five points thus far.

-The Lindenwood penalty kill unit is currently operating at a 85.9 percent success rate, up from its 74.8 percent mark from a season ago. The Lady Lions are currently ranked 11th in Division I and second within the CHA.

-The Lady Lions will enjoy a 19-day break during the winter holidays before they take the ice again on Jan. 3-4 for a two-game non-conference road series at Minnesota State-Mankato. The Mavericks currently have a record of 2-15-1 and 0-14-0 within the WCHA.
