Lindenwood got a much needed MIAA conference win tonight, by beating Southwest Baptist 89-76. The win gives Lindenwood its third conference victory of the season. The Lady Lions received stand out performances from
Jenny Rocha, who scored 20 points on six-of-nine shooting,
Vanessa Zailo, who had 14 points and 18 rebounds, along with
Kassidy Gengenbacher, who had 15 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists.

The Lady Lions came out strong, shooting 55 percent from the field in the first half, shooting three-of-five from beyond the arc. The Bearcats led most of the first half, but the Lady Lions turned it on towards the end of the first half and never looked back, taking a 38-33 lead into the halftime break.

Lindenwood came into the second half carrying the momentum from the end of the first half, riding Rocha, Gengenbacher, and Zailo who all had double-digit second half scoring performances. The Lady Lions outscored the Bearcats 51-43 in the second half. Lindenwood continued its hot shooting in the second half, shooting a scorching 58 percent from the field, while holding Southwest Baptist to 38 percent.

The win moves the Lady Lions record to 10-12 and 3-12 in MIAA play. Coming up next for the Lady Lions is a visit to Warrensburg, Mo. to play Central Missouri in an MIAA battle.
