Lindenwood's wrestling team travelled to Warrensburg, Mo. for the MIAA Tournament, where the Lions went on to place nine wrestlers in the top-three and had head coach Chad Smith win the coach of the year award. Lindenwood finished second in team score with 82 points, falling behind tournament champions Nebraska-Kearney.
 
Marco Tamayo was Lindenwood's representative for the 125-pound weight, Tamayo went on to finish second in the tournament. Hunter Haralson finished third in the 133-pound weight division by winning the third-place match with a 9-0 major decision. Kyle Webb fell just short of claiming the 141-pound weight class championship, falling in a 3-1 decision in the championship match. Derrick Weller fell in the finals match in the 157-weight class, 5-3, giving Lindenwood a second place finish. Kyle Jolas also finished second in the tournament, falling in the finals match of the 165-weight class. Batchka Zulkhuu lost his first match in the 174-weight class, but battled his way back to a third place finish for the Lions. Jon McArdle gave the Lions another close second place finish, after winning his first two matches by major decision and a pin, before falling just short in the finals match 8-7.  For 197 pounds, Kenny Breaux represented Lindenwood, finishing third. Jacob Borgmeyer battled his way to the finals match before falling just short.
 
Lindenwood now gets ready to travel to Kirksville, Mo. to get one last tune-up against Truman State on February 19th before the NCAA Division II Super Regional in Mankato, Minn. Starting February 28th.
