The Lindenwood men's volleyball team took on the No. 1 team in NCAA Division I on Saturday night in Chicago, Ill. The Lions lost to Loyola Chicago in three sets by scores of 25-15, 25-15, and 30-28.

After having negative hitting percentages for the first two sets, the Lions woke up offensively in the third set and nearly forced a fourth set. The Ramblers led 24-21, but the Lions scored five of the next six points to go up 26-25. Lindenwood had three set points, but the defending national champions killed off all three and eventually won the match with three straight kills.

The Lions were led by
Jake Duckworth who had nine kills and 11.5 points. Other team leaders were
Roman Seghezzi with 14 assists,
Michael Chard with two service aces,
Ryan Vorderer with seven digs, and Duckworth and
Logan Jarus with two blocks apiece.

Lindenwood falls to 4-6 on the season and 2-5 in MIVA play. The Lions return home next Saturday to face Mount St. Joseph.
