Lindenwood's hockey team fell in a close game to the Penn State Nittany Lions. The Lady Lions couldn't dig themselves out of an early 2-0 deficit. The Lady Lions battled, but ultimately fell short 3-2.
 
The first period was played very evenly, having the Lady Lions shoot eight times, while Penn State shot nine, but neither team could find the back of the net. The second period was very different. Just 45 seconds into the second period, Penn State scored the first goal of the game. Penn State widened the gap to 2-0 on a power-play goal. Penn State scored a third goal to give them a 3-0 lead. Lindenwood's Holly Dietzler knocked in a goal on an assist from Shara Jasper and Katie Erickson to give the Lady Lions their first goal of the game.
 
In the third period, Darby Dobbs scored her first goal of the season at a big time, to shrink Penn State's victory to 3-2. Lindenwood couldn't find the back of the net before time ran out, giving Penn State a victory.

The loss moves the Lady Lions record to 8-17-1, and 5-9-1 in CHA play. Coming up next for Lindenwood is a rematch against Penn State Saturday at 3:00 p.m., where they hope to turn the tables with a victory to close out the weekend.
