The Lindenwood Lady Lions travelled to St. Joseph, Mo. on Saturday afternoon to take on the Missouri Western Griffons and fell 80-50.

Things started off quickly for the Griffons, outscoring the Lady Lions 41-24 in the opening half. Lindenwood tried to make a run in the second half cutting the deficit down to 12 but could not get any closer.

Missouri Western shot 51 percent from the field and forced the Lady Lions into 21 turnovers. The Griffons also dominated the glass outrebounding Lindenwood 41-32.

The Lady Lions shot 36 percent from the field and just 22 percent from behind the arc. Kassidy Gengebacher led the way scoring 10 points for Lindenwood.
Hannah Bland saw her most extended playing time of the season and grabbed a team-high five rebounds.

The loss dropped the Lady Lions to 9-12 overall and 2-12 in MIAA play. Up net for Lindenwood is a home game on Wednesday night against Southwest Baptist.Â
