Lindenwood gymnast
Valeri Ingui made Lindenwood history on Sunday in Columbia, Mo. when she set the program's all-around record in a dual with the University of Missouri. The SEC Tigers needed a late comeback to defeat Lindenwood by less than one point.

The Lady Lions finished with a team score of 193.675, which was the fourth-highest in school history. Lindenwood led heading into the final event, but Missouri scored a 49.150 on the floor, which the Lady Lions couldn't match on the beam. The Tigers finished with a team score of 194.550. Lindenwood did defeat the Tigers on the bars with a 48.600. The Lady Lions set a school record on the vault with a 48.700, and had top-three marks on the bars and floor.

Ingui started her record-breaking day with a 9.850 on the bars, which was a new career-best for her. Later in the day, she would also set another personal career-best mark with a 9.825 on the floor. Both of those scores were top-five marks at Lindenwood. Ingui also had a 9.650 on the vault and a 9.750 on the beam.

After Ingui's beam performance, she had a final total of 39.075. She is just the second Lady Lion to record a mark over 39.000, and she defeated the previous school record by 0.050. Ingui finished second at the competition in the all-around, just 0.100 behind Missouri's Becca Schugel.

Other notable Lindenwood performances on the bars included
Courtney Heise having a 9.850 and
Trystien Charles recording a 9.800.
Kierstin Sokolowski led Lindenwood on the vault with a 9.850, and Heise and
Rachel Zabawa both had a 9.800 or higher. On the beam,
Lauren Cartmell led the team with a 9.775, just ahead of Ingui and Zabawa. Zabawa was second on the team on the floor with a 9.800.

Lindenwood has its home opener next Friday night when it hosts conference rivals Texas Woman's and Centenary. That event will be held at the Family Arena, and will start at 6 p.m.
