The Lindenwood softball team dropped two games to the Central Oklahoma Bronchos on Sunday afternoon in St. Charles. The Bronchos won the first game 2-0 and then won game two 8-4.
The first game of the day was a pitching duel. Both starting pitchers threw complete games and both struck out five hitters each. Â Central Oklahoma got its runs in the second and the fifth innings. The Lady Lions threatened just a few times but eventually fell.
Kendall Ryndak took the loss after pitching well. She surrendered just one earned run and just six hits. The Lady Lions offense had just four hits.
Game two was quite the opposite of game one. The Bronchos offense jumped all over the Lindenwood starter,
Morgan Colvis, for eight runs in the top of the first.
The Lady Lions offense tried to battle back scoring two runs in the bottom of the first and sngle tallies in the third and the fifth.
Alexis Theis had a big game at the plate going three-for-four with two runs scored and two RBIs. She is also hit her third home run of the year in the contest.
The two losses drop the Lady Lions to 3-19 overall and 1-7 in MIAA play. Up next for Lindenwood is a nonconference doubleheader on Tuesday against William Jewell.
