The Lindenwood softball team was swept at the hand of the red hot Missouri Western Griffons. The Lady Lions lost 5-2 in game one and 6-4 in game two. The Griffons have now won 14 straight games.
The Lady Lions jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in game one after
Rachel Overton hit a two-run home run. But unfortunately that was the last run Lindenwood would score.
Sydney Seabaugh led the way offensively with three hits.
Lindenwood outhit Missouri Western in game two but fell in the end. Maddi Huot led the way for the Lady Lions with a home run and a single in her three at bats.
Mallory Eitel also chipped in with a pair of hits. Kaitlyn Siebert got a start at second base and drive in two runs.
The two losses drop Lindenwood to 6-26 overall and 2-12 in MIAA play. The Lady Lions will be back in action Saturday afternoon against Northwest Missouri.
