Softball Swept at Northwest Missouri

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Lindenwood softball team's struggles in conference play continued on Saturday afternoon in Maryville, Mo. when the Lady Lions were swept by the Northwest Missouri State Bearcats. The Bearcats won game one 5-3 and finished the day shutting out Lindenwood 5-0.

The home team got the scoring going early in game one scoring four runs in the bottom of the first inning to take a commanding 4-0 lead. Lindenwood tried to claw back into the game with a pair of runs in the second inning but could not get any closer.

Madeline Bohr led the way for the Lady Lions offense with two hits and a RBI. Kendall Ryndak started the game in the circle and pitched six innings while striking out seven.

Game two of the day was dominated by the Bearcats starter Kendle Schieber. She surrendered just two hits to Lindenwood and struck out six hitters while earning the win.

The two losses dropped the Lady Lions to 6-28 overall and 2-14 in MIAA play. Lindenwood will be back in action on Wednesday afternoon against Maryville.
