The No. 15 Lindenwood men's lacrosse team fell for the first time in 2015 on Saturday night at Hunter Stdadium. The Lions dropped a 10-7 decision against Mercyhurst.
Lindenwood had a small lead for much of the first half, but the Lakers scored twice in the final minutes to tie the game at 5-5 at intermission. After a defensive third period in which Mercyhurst scored the only goal, the Lions tied the game again at six early in the fourth period. Lindenwood went nearly 13 minutes without scoring after that though, and the Lakers scored four consecutive goals for the win.
David Corazalla led Lindenwood with four goals. Josh Conns and
McNein Hewitt each had a goal and an assist.
Graeme Hossack had a team-high 15 groundballs and caused four turnovers.
Ben Besancenez made six saves in goal.
Lindenwood falls to 5-1 on the year and 2-1 in ECAC play. The Lions return to action on Tuesday with a road game at Lenoir-Rhyne.
