The Lindenwood baseball team lost 2-0 on Sunday to No. 21 Washburn at the Lou Brock Sports Complex in St. Charles, Mo.
The Lions had great support from their pitching staff as they did all weekend. Â
Andrew Eilers started on the bump for Lindenwood and tossed 5 2/3 innings allowing just two runs on five hit and struck out five Washburn batters.Â
Brennan Hehner and
Devin Breihan threw a combined 3 1/3 innings in relief and held the Ichabods hitless in that span.
Wes Degener had two of the Lions seven hits on the day but Lindenwood could not find any runs in the final game of the series.Â
Ryan Light led the Lions this weekend with a .429 batting average (6-for-14) and three Lindenwood batters compiled four RBI apiece. Both Hehner and Breihan made three appearances against the Ichabods allowing just one run on three hits in 8 1/3 combined innings.
The loss sets the Lions back to 13-16 on the year and 7-9 in conference play. The Lions will travel to Jefferson City, Mo. on Tuesday to take on Lincoln University for a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
