The Lindenwood men's volleyball team struggled on Friday night at Hyland Arena against No. 2 Lewis. The Lions lost by scores of 25-14, 25-14, and 25-12.
Lewis controlled the match starting with its serving, as the Flyers had nine service aces and the Lions had just a 42 percent sideout percentage. Lewis also had a .524 hitting percentage for the contest. On the other side of the net, the Lions hit just .110 as Lewis had 23 digs and eight blocks.
Colin Hackworth had a team-high eight kills, followed by
Kyle Overby with seven. Overby also had two service aces and finished with a team-high 9.5 points.
Connor Metcalfe recorded team-highs of 22 assists and six digs, and
Zach Bequette had two blocks.
Lindenwood falls to 11-10 overall and 6-8 in MIVA play. The Lions will face No. 5 Loyola Chicago, the defending NCAA National Champions, on Saturday night at 7 p.m. at Hyland Arena.
