The Lindenwood softball team kept its hot streak alive with a doubleheader sweep of the Lincoln Blue Tigers on Saturday afternoon in St. Charles. The Lady Lions shutout the Blue Tigers in game one 6-0 then finished off the sweep with a 10-2 win in game two.
Things started off quickly for the home team. The Lady Lions started the game with three runs in the top of the first then followed that up with another tally in the second to take the early 4-0 lead. Lindenwood would add to its lead in the sixth and then
Kendall Ryndak took care of the rest.
The senior struck out 10 and gave up just four hits on senior day and earned her eighth win of the season. Senior
Kate Keaton led the offense with two hits in two at bats while
Courtney Kitson drove in two runs.
Game two was all Lindenwood from the opening pitch. The Lady Lions sent 12 hitters to the plate in the first inning and scored seven runs. The scoring did not end there for Lindenwood scoring a single tally in the third inning and then ended the game in the fifth with two more runs.
Kitson once again had a big game at the plate going three-for-three with two runs scored and one RBI.
Madison Huot,
Hannah Braun, and Kaitlyn Siebert all had two hits each.
Morgan Colvis started in the circle for the Lady Lions and earned the win pitching five innings and striking out three and giving up just four hits.
The Lady Lions run their overall record to 14-32 overall. Lindenwood will be back in action on Wednesday night for their final home game of the season against the McKendree Bearcats.
