Lady Lions Close Out Lindenwood Invitational

The women's volleyball team completed the Lindenwood Invitational on Saturday with a 3-0 win over Northwood in the morning and closed out the tournament with a 3-1 loss to Missouri-St. Louis at Hyland Arena in St. Charles, Mo.

The Lady Lions were led by Kayla Guyot who posted 12 kills and four blocks and Sarah-Jane Pavlik dished out 34 assists against Northwood.  Lindenwood won sets one and two by scores of 25-20 and 25-17 respectively before cruising through set three 25-12.  Jessica Krygsheld pitched in with 11 kills and had an efficient .625 hitting percentage.

Lindenwood looked to go out on a high against nearby foe, Missouri-St. Louis for the afternoon match.  The Lady Lions dropped their first set 25-19, but responded with a 25-18 win to knot things up at 1-1.  A great set three ended in a 25-22 loss and the Lady Lions could not come out on top and fell 26-24 set to end the match.  Krygsheld put up 12 kills with 4 blocks while Pavlik added 42 assists against the Tritons.  Anna Reichert had just 10 digs in the morning match, but was solid against Missouri-St. Louis as she had 22 digs in the four-set match.

Lindenwood now stands at 6-2 on the year.  The Lady Lions will host Quincy at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Hyland Arena in St. Charles, Mo.
