After surrendering a second-half goal, the Lady Lions soccer team tied Truman State 1-1 on Tuesday night at Hunter Stadium.
Both teams had opportunities in the first half, but failed to execute until 14 seconds remaining when junior
Alexis Robbers found the back of the net to give the Lindenwood a 1-0 lead heading into halftime. The goal was Robbers' second of the season.
The fast-paced tempo continued when the second-half whistle blew. With both teams trading chances, Truman's Jessica Hanson knotted the match at one in the 73rd minute when she launched a free kick from 25 yards out just passed Lindenwood goalkeeper
Jordan Gnolfo. The score held constant through double-overtime as each team was handed another tie to add to their respective record.
Senior goalkeeper Gnolfo stepped in net for her start of the season, and shined fending off six of the seven shots on goal by the Bulldogs.Â
Truman paced both teams with 12 shots, seven being on goal. In the Bulldogs attack, the team also had seven corner kicks, but the Lady Lions rejected each opportunity. Lindenwood committed nine fouls, while Truman was whistled for 11.
The Lady Lions move to 1-1-2 and will head to Warrensburg, Mo. to face #2 Central Missouri on Friday with kickoff set for 7 p.m.
