The Lady Lions field hockey team opened the 2015 season with a 5-2 victory over Seton Hill in West Chester, Pa.
Amelia Rodriguez scored 18 minutes into the first half to put the Lady Lions on the board. Ten minutes later, the Griffins responded with a goal of their own that would send both teams into haftime tied. The Griffins scored 13 minutes into the second half, but the Lady Lions responded three minutes later with a goal from
Chloe Bell. The Lady Lions would not look back as they tacked on three more goals in the span of nine minutes including a second goal from Bell.
On defense,
Victoria Gil collected six saves including three in the span of three minutes during the first half.
Linda Bonagura and
Tara Robben recorded one goal each. Robben's goal was the seventh in her career.
The Lady Lions continue their stay in Pennsylvania as they face West Chester on Friday 3:00 p.m.
