The Lady Lions field hockey team continued its season-opening road trip, but had difficulty slowing down No. 2 West Chester's offense in an 8-2 loss on Friday in West Chester, Pa.
 
The Golden Rams scored the first two goals within 13 minutes in the first half until Virginie Leyssens put the Lady Lions (1-1-0) on the board with her first goal of the year. However, the Golden Rams tacked on two more goals to extend the lead 4-1 before the first half ended. The Golden Rams scored the first two goals in the second half, before Greta Banholzer scored her first goal of the year to give the Lady Lions their second goal. After that, the Lady Lions could not get their offense going for the rest of the game.
 
On offense, the Lady Lions attempted five shots on goal while the Golden Rams recorded 18. Victoria Gil saved ten shots on goal, making that 16 on the year. Ashton Lichvar, Karlie Quinn, and Leyssons all attempted a shot while Banholzer shot twice.
 
The Lady Lions will end their road trip against Millersville on Sunday morning in Millersville, Pa.
