The Lindenwood women's volleyball team started the 2015 season with a doubleheader on Friday afternoon with a win over Mississippi College 3-0 and another 3-0 win over Bellarmine in the second game in Memphis, Tenn.
The Lady Lions started their 2015 campaign with a three-set sweep over the Choctaws by scores of 25-15, 25-16, and 25-18.Â
Jessica Krygsheld led the Lady Lions with 12 of the teams' 45 kills followed by
Sarah Makowski with nine and
Bailey Dvorak scored seven kills. Makowski played a good defensive game with five blocks while
Sarah-Jane Pavlik put up 27 assist in the three-game match. The Lady Lions finished set three by scoring six of the final seven points to earn their first win of the year.
Game two of the tournament was a tough fight for Lindenwood as the Lady Lions earn victories of 25-23, 25-18, and 25-22 in a hard fought match against Bellarmine. Dvorak had a monster game of 14 kills and Pavlik made plays with a career high 42 assists.
The Lady Lions will look to continue their hot start to the 2015 season with a doubleheader on Saturday. Lindenwood will play its first game at 9 a.m. against Christin Brothers followed by a 2 p.m. start against Lyon College (Ark.) in Memphis, Tenn.
