Lady Lions Roar to Christian Brothers Invitational Sweep

The Lindenwood volleyball team closed out its opening weekend with a 3-0 win over host Christian Brothers and a 3-0 sweep over Lyon College (Ark.) on Saturday in Memphis, Tenn.

The Lady Lions had great efforts by Shannon Doyle, Jessica Krygsheld, and Sarah-Jane Pavlik in game one. Doyle led the squad with 12 kills and 12 digs as she added two blocks while Krygsheld had seven kills and two blocks. Pavlik once again produced quality offensive play with 35 assists, scored two aces, and posted 10 digs. Lindenwood defeated Christian Brothers by scores of 25-20, 26-24, and 25-20.

Lindenwood closed out the Christian Brothers Tournament with a 3-0 win over Lyon College. Krygsheld scored seven kills with two blocks, and Ivy Reynolds had 15 digs to help the Lady Lions sweep the Christian Brothers Invitational.

Bailey Dvorak was named tournament MVP for her outstanding play.  Dvorak averaged 3.08 kills per set with a total of 37 including 14 kills against Bellarmine.  Kayla Guyot and Pavlik also earned a spot on the all-tournament team.  Guyot posted 10 blocks over the weekend with 25 kills while Pavlik compiled 123 assists and 29 digs to help the Lady Lions to a great start to the season.

Lindenwood improves to 4-0 to start the season.  The Lady Lions will host the 2015 Lindenwood Invitational starting on September 11th.  Lindenwood will open the weekend with a 4 p.m. start against Arkansas Fort Smith on Friday at Hyland Arena in St. Charles, Mo.
