Women's Hockey Begins Final Stretch with Road Series at Robert Morris

Series Notes
-The Lindenwood women's hockey team travels to Pittsburgh, Pa. for a two-game series with CHA foe, the Robert Morris Colonials on Friday, Jan. 29 and Saturday, Jan. 30. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. on Friday evening, followed by a 3:05 p.m. start time on Saturday afternoon.

-This past weekend, the Lady Lions hosted the top-ranked team within the CHA, the Mercyhurst Lakers for a two-game set. Lindenwood dropped the opening game by a score of 2-0, despite the two teams being scoreless for the first 59 minutes of play. The Lady Lions responded with a shutout of their own on Saturday afternoon, downing the Lakers by a final score of 1-0.

-Earlier this season on Dec. 12-13, the Colonials traveled to Wentzville, Mo. for a two-game matchup with the Lady Lions. Sarah Bobrowski scored twice for Lindenwood during the first game, which ended in a 3-3 tie. The Colonials would prevail the following day by a final score of 4-1.

-Robert Morris enters into the weekend series with a season record of 12-9-5 and 4-4-4 from within the CHA. The Colonials currently sit in third-place with a total of 12 points. Robert Morris is coming off of a two-game road series at Penn State, during which they went 0-1-1. The Colonials are led offensively by Brittany Howard who has amassed a conference-leading total of 30 points.  Between the pipes for Robert Morris goaltender Jessica Dodds has started 25 games while compiling a 2.01 goals against average and a .930 save percentage.

Lindenwood Notes
-During the Lady Lions 1-0 victory over Mercyhurst on Jan. 23, Nicole Hensley recorded the third shutout of her career while making 35 saves.

-After recording 58 saves during her two starts vs. Mercyhurst, Hensley equaled the NCAA all-time saves record of 3,809 set by Brianne McLaughlin of RMU back in 2009.  

-Hensley was named as the CHA Goalie of the Week on Jan. 25, marking the fourth time this season and 10th time during her career that she has received the honor.

-Shara Jasper added to her conference-leading goal scoring total on Jan. 23, picking up the game-winning goal early in the first period. The goal was the third game-winning score of the season for Jasper, which also leads the team.      

-Jasper moved into sole possession of second-place in program history in career goals scored with 27. Jasper has achieved the mark in just 59 career games.  
 
-Shannon Morris-Reade tallied an assist on Jan. 23 and moved into first-place in program history in assists per-game with 0.46.

-Corbin Welsh won nine of her 13 faceoffs vs. Mercyhurst and continues to pace the Lady Lions in the faceoff circle winning 50.7% of her draws this season.

-Tae Otte blocked five shots this weekend vs. Mercyhurst, adding to her team-leading total of 59 blocks. Carrie Atkinson ranks second on the team with 48 blocked shots.

-The Lady Lions will return home to Wentzville, Mo. for a two-game series with the R.I.T. Tigers on Feb. 5-6. The Tigers are currently 6-19-1 and 2-9-1 in conference play, which ranks sixth in the CHA.
