Men's ice hockey fell to Minot State University 6-2 Friday night at the Lindenwood Ice Arena in Wentzville, Missouri.
The Lions went scoreless in the first two periods, ending the first behind 3-0 and the second behind 6-0.
Finally in the third period, the Lions bounced back against the Beavers. Graham Zagrodney scored off a feed from Kevin Walters at 7:45. With just a minute left in the game, Kevin Walters got one past Minot State with some help from Brennan Luscombe.
It was a rough game for Lindenwood's keeper Michael Hails, who was pulled in the second quarter after the fifth goal. After Hails stopped 12 of 17 shots, it was Cody Karpinski who came in and stopped 17 of 18 shots on goal.
The Beavers outshot the Lions 35-26. Lindenwood went 0-3 on power play, while Minot State went 1 for 3.
The Lions will get another chance against the Beavers Saturday night at the Lindenwood Ice Arena in Wentzville, Missouri. The puck drops at 4 p.m.
