The Lindenwood women's volleyball team defeated Pittsburg State 3-1 on Friday night in Pittsburg, Kan.

The Gorillas began the night with a 25-21 win in set one, despite the .237 hitting percentage by the Lady Lions.Â
Sarah Makowski compiled three kills and two blocks and
Shannon Doyle tallied three kills with one block.Â
Jessica Krygsheld posted two blocks with two kills and two digs with the help of 10 assists by
Allyson Clancy.

Lindenwood bounced back in set two with a 25-17 win on a .314 hitting percentage led by five kills from Makowski.Â
Alex Dahlstrom hammered down three kills and
Alex Bogusz and Krygsheld each had two kills with two blocks.

The Lady Lions put together another convincing win in set three with a 25-16 win. Krygsheld had a monster set with five kills, two blocks, four digs, and one service ace. Clancy handed out 14 assists with two service aces and three digs. Dahlstrom tallied four kills on a .300 hitting percentage while the team hit .250 for the set.

Makowski closed out the night with six kills in the fourth set to help the Lady Lions to a slim 25-23 victory. Doyle posted four kills on a .429 hitting percentage to help the team hit .281 in the final set. Lindenwood hit .270 on the night and had three players in double-digit kills; Makowski (16), Dahlstrom (11), and Doyle (10). Krygsheld compiled nine kills with six blocks and Bogusz tallied seven kills with six blocks.

Lindenwood improves to 10-13 on the season and 5-7 in the MIAA. The Lady Lions travel to Edmond, Okla. to take on No. 9 Central Oklahoma at 3 p.m.
