The Lindenwood women's volleyball team fell 3-2 to No. 18 Northwest Missouri in Hyland Arena on Friday night in St. Charles, Mo.

The Lady Lions jumped to an early lead in the first set, but the Bearcats gave them a scare late.Â
Sarah Makowski had four kills and three blocks in the opening set to help Lindenwood to a 25-21 victory to begin the night.Â
Allyson Clancy dished out all 11 assists and added two blocks while
Bailey Dvorak had three kills and helped Lindenwood to a .194 hitting percentage.

Northwest Missouri controlled the second set with a strong .421 hitting percentage en route to a 25-17 win. Dvorak and
Jessica Krygsheld each tallied four kills as Dvorak hit .571 to help the Lady Lions to a .216 hitting percentage.

Both squads played a very even game in set three as both the Bearcats and Lady Lions hit .180. Krygsheld and Makowski each registered four kills while
Alex Dahlstrom posted three blocks.Â
Megan Hellwege put up 11 digs, but the Lady Lions fell 25-23 to put the pressure on.

Lindenwood came out with a phenomenal comeback in the fourth set and pulled out a 26-24 win to force a fifth frame. Dvorak compiled four kills and
Kali Crawford dished out nine assists and put up seven digs. The Lady Lions could not close out the upset and fell 15-10 in the fifth set to No. 18 Northwest Missouri.

Dvorak and Krygsheld led the team with 13 kills each while Makowski finished with 11 and Dahlstrom registered 10. Clancy compiled 30 assists in three sets played and Crawford put up 13 assists in her two sets played. Krygsheld added a team-high 13 digs to her stat line with four blocks. Makowski posted seven blocks as Dahlstrom (6) and
Alex Bogusz (5) were right behind her. Lindenwood hit .169 on the night and compiled 12 total team blocks.

Lindenwood falls to 5-11 on the season and 1-5 in the MIAA. Northwest Missouri moves to 17-1 on the year and 5-1 in conference play. The Lady Lions will host Missouri Western on Saturday at 6 p.m. and will be promoting Breast Cancer Awareness in Hyland Arena.
