Chandler Diekvoss Scores 22 First-Half Points In Lions' Win

The Lindenwood men's basketball team scored its highest point total in three years on Tuesday night as it defeated Langara by a 108-73 score in Vancouver, British Columbia. Langara came into the game ranked 11th among teams in the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association.
 
The Lions poured in over 50 points in each half in the fast-paced game that saw Lindenwood have the fourth-most field goals made and field goal attempts in program history. Lindenwood shot over 51.3 percent from the field, and connected on 14 three-pointers.
 
Chandler Diekvoss got the team off to a quick start as he scored nine points in the first two minutes, and helped the Lions jump out to an 11-2 lead. Diekvoss continued his hot shooting for the rest of the half as he ended the first 20 minutes with 22 points, and Lindenwood led 55-36 at the break.
 
Lindenwood continued to extend its lead throughout the second half, eventually leading by as many as 41 points before a couple of late three-pointers by the Falcons made the final margin of victory 35 points.
 
Diekvoss finished with 25 points, and was one of five players in double-figures. Jackson Price had 15 points, Dominique Dobbs had 14, Mason Bendigo scored 13, and Adam Pohlman had 11. Brenon Larson-Gulsvig and Max Meylor each had nine points, Landon Mills scored seven, and Zac Haese chipped in with five points. Every player that saw action hit a three-pointer except for Dobbs.
 
Diekvoss and Dobbs each missed a double-double by one rebound as they finished with nine. Meylor pulled down seven rebounds and the Lions won the rebounding battle by seven boards. Jackson Price led the team with six assists, and Haese had three steals.

Lindenwood improves to 5-2 on the season, and it finished its Canadian trip with a 2-2 mark. The Lions will be home on Friday night with a 7 p.m. game against Hannibal-LaGrange.
