Balanced-Scoring Attack Leads Men's Basketball To 81-65 Victory Over Hannibal-LaGrange

Four players scored in double-digits on Friday evening in Hyland Arena, as the Lindenwood men's basketball team cruised to a 16-point victory over the visiting Hannibal-LaGrange.

The Lions used a balanced effort in the win. Brenon Larson-Gulsvig began things with a three-pointer on the team's first possession, before Dominique Dobbs hit a pair of free throws to give Lindenwood the early 5-0 advantage.
 
After the Trojans knotted it at seven apiece, the Lions went on an 8-0 run on another three-pointer from Larson-Gulsvig and Max Meylor. Lindenwood racked up 20 points in the paint in the half, which extended its lead to double-digits. Jackson Price gave the Lions their largest lead of the half with a three-pointer of his own after the final media timeout.
 
The final points in the half were layups by Chandler Diekvoss and Dobbs with just over two minutes left to play to give the Lions a 37-25 lead, which would be the last points scored before the break.
 
As a team, Lindenwood held Hannibal-LaGrange to just over 27 percent from the field, which allowed Diekvoss and Dobbs to each grab seven rebounds in the half. The Lions were 14-for-30 on the offensive end, and held the edge in boards at 24-15.
 
The lead extended to 19 quickly in the second half. A three-pointer from Rayko Dundalov put the score at 50-31 with under 16 minutes to play.
 
During a six-minute span late in the half, Dobbs and Diekvoss scored 13 of 15 points with the only other score coming from LJ McIntosh. With five minutes remaining, Adam Pohlman added points to his stat line that including seven assists, two rebounds, and a block.
 
Zach Haese joined the scoring with a three-pointer at the 2:45 mark in the half to make him the final of 10 players who tallied points.
 
The night was highlighted by 38 points in the paint and 30 bench points, and also had 14 points off turnovers to gain the largest lead of 25. The team shot 51 percent from the field in the win, and controlled the glass with a 40-31 edge. The Lions protected the ball, only turning it over 10 times while dishing out 19 assists.
 
The win improves Lindenwood to 6-2 on the season, and has now won three consecutive contests. The Lions will host Robert Morris-Springfield next Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Hyland Arena.
