The opening period was played even by both sides, with Lindenwood registering 10 shots on goal and Ohio State sending 12 pucks on net. The Buckeyes were the recipients of one power-play opportunity in the opening frame, but failed to capitalize with the advantage. The two teams were even at 0-0 after 20 minutes of action.

In the second period, Ohio State grabbed a one-goal lead late into the middle stanza. Maddy Field lit the lamp with 1:22 remaining in the period, sending the Buckeyes to the locker room with the one-goal edge.

Ohio State would tack three goals onto its lead in the final period, including two even-strength scores and an empty net tally. The trio of Buckeye goals in the third period brought the game to its final score of 4-0.
