The Lindenwood women's volleyball team fell in straight sets on Friday night at Hyland Arena to No. 13 Washburn. The final scores were 25-23, 25-13, and 25-17.

The Lady Lions' best chance in the contest came in the first set, which had 14 ties and eight lead changes. Lindenwood went on a 3-0 run late in the set for a 22-21 lead, and then traded points to get within two points of the victory. Washburn got three straight kills though to get the important set one win.

Washburn had all of the momentum after that as it hit .485 in its second set victory, and then the Ichabods held the Lady Lions under .100 hitting in the third set to clinch the sweep.

Lindenwood finished the match with a .158 hitting percentage, compared to a .299 mark for the Ichabods. Washburn had 17 more kills, 12 more digs, and four more blocks. The Ichabods also had an advantage serving with seven aces, compared to none for the Lady Lions.

Shannon Doyle led Lindenwood's offense with nine kills and a .412 hitting percentage.
Aleah Rosenau had six kills, and
Haley Sigel came off the bench to have five kills in two sets.
Allyson Clancy had 27 assists in the contest. Defensively,
Megan Hellwege had 10 digs, and Rosenau had two blocks.

Lindenwood has an important match on Saturday night at Hyland Arena with a 6 p.m. contest against Emporia State. The Senior Day match is between the two teams fighting for the final MIAA Tournament spot.
