Men's Tennis Loses to McKendree 7-2

The Lindenwood men's tennis fell by a final score of 7-2 to the Bearcats of McKendree on Tuesday afternoon at Lebanon, Ill. Both wins for the Lions came in singles.
 
In doubles, the Lions had trouble handling the Bearcats. The closest the Lions came to winning a doubles match was from Theo Butaeye and Tudor Ghenea at No. 2 doubles as they lost 8-5.
 
The Lions remained close in singles, but they lost four matches including one in a super tiebreaker. Ghenea came nearly close to winning at No. 5 singles, but fell 10-4 in the super tiebreaker. Naoufal El Idrissi battled tough in the second set at No. 2 singles, but lost 6-2, 7-5.
 
Filip Bogic, who was named MIAA Male Tennis Player of the Week on Monday, took down his opponent in straight sets at No. 1 singles. Butaeye was the other Lion who won, succeeding at No. 3 singles by a final score of 6-2, 6-3.
 
The Lions will take 11 days off before traveling to Northwest Missouri for the first MIAA matchup of the season. The dual will start on March 12 at 1 p.m.
