The Lindenwood baseball team lost 15-5 in game one of the three-game series against Nebraska-Kearney on Friday afternoon in Kearney, Neb.

The Lions jumped on the board in the first inning after
Nathan Prindle and
Mike Ehrhard each hit a solo shot to put Lindenwood up 2-0. The Lopers had a big bottom of the second with a four-run inning to take a two-run lead. Nebraska-Kearney added another run in the third inning to take a 5-2 lead.Â
Ryan Sosnowski hit a home run in the top of the fourth to cut the deficit to 5-3, but the Lopers continued to put up runs.

Lindenwood surrendered a run in the bottom of the fourth, and put up five runs in the fifth inning to take a commanding 11-3 lead. The Lions picked up a run in the top of the sixth on the second home run of the day by Ehrhard, and another run in the seventh inning to make it an 11-5 ballgame. Nebraska-Kearney scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh to win 15-5 in a shortened game.

The loss sets Lindenwood back to 8-7 on the year and 2-5 in the MIAA. The Lions will continue the three-game set with a nine-inning game on Saturday at 2 p.m. in Kearney, Neb.
